House and Accommodations

Abigail Inn was constructed in 1928 as a fraternity house for Washington and Lee students. While it has undergone extensive remodeling over the years, it has also retained its essential historic character, thanks to a succession of owners who have loved and cared for the property. From 1990 until its acquisition by its current owners in 2011, it was used primarily as a bed & breakfast. Its current owners have viewed it as both a B&B and as a retreat and/or conference center. It is to be used not only by guests from around the world, but also by the citizens of Lexington to honor our Creator and all who enter its doors. Whether you stay with us for a week or just a few days, stop by for a brief visit or simply call with a question; we hope you will feel appreciated and valued.

The house can accommodate guests in six beautifully furnished bedrooms each with an attached bathroom. You will find that the large dining and living rooms featuring original artwork from renown artists are perfect for meetings and conversations. There is also a handsome sitting room on the second floor for those who wish to withdraw for quiet study, reading, or private conversations.

You will find breakfast being served every morning between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. in our dining room. Should you have special dietary needs or timing issues please indicate these concerns when you register. Between 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., the doors to the living room may be closed so that guests can participate in an optional and private discussion of some aspect of Jesus’ life that has relevance to our lives today.

The house is equipped with free wifi internet service. Cable Television is available for all guests on the large screen TV in the game room located in the basement.
